So...funny story.
The city in which we chose to host our wedding weekend is an historically dry town. That is to say, within the city limits the sale of alcohol is illegal.
This is not wholly uncommon in New Jersey as many towns were built upon religious foundations. Ocean City takes the idea a step further by not permitting B.Y.O.B. at its restaurants as well.
It's okay, we'll get through this.
That said, the consumption of alcohol is pretty commonplace on the island, just as long as it’s confined to private space. So you’re free to have a drink in your rental house, on your hotel room’s deck or at our private affair on Sunday.
Obviously, rules regarding open containers on the street and public drunkenness are similar to most other municipalities. Common sense should be your guide.
